(This role can be based anywhere South or South West - Remote first role with monthly attendance to Cardiff Office)
Day to day responsibilities for the Senior Data Analyst include:
- Discovery exercises to help the customer understand their existing datasets.
- Working with external teams to map data requirements between datasets.
- Designing & building new data models.
- Apply tools and techniques for data analysis and data visualisation
- Working with external teams to develop new Management Information Systems and reporting elements.
- Write ETL services to transform data from a variety of datasources.
- Clearly communicate your work and provide confidence in order to drive change in a business.
- Understand complex requirements and break down into actionable chunks of work.
- Ability to coach/upskill other members of the team.
Essential skills for the Senior Data Analyst include:
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Data modelling, cleansing and enrichment.
- Data visualisation using a number of visualisation tools and techniques.
- Background in building out ETL processes.
- The ability to communicate with multi-disciplinary teams, lead presentations and provide recommendations into data strategy.
- A results-orientated mind-set with a passion for data and a keen eye for detail.
- Comfortable with limited travel to clients (most sites are Central London based).
- Able to work in fast-paced environments, rolling onto multiple projects if needed at any one time.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable skills for the Senior Data Analyst include:
- Building effective CI/CD tools and processes.
- Working with an Engineering mindset, (Ie Agile development, GIT, Jira)
- Implement and control the flow of data to and from cloud environments.
- Ability to perform discovery exercises including the analysis of existing systems to recommend improvements for performance, fault tolerance and security.
- Ensure data is secured across different clients and in line with legislation.
- Triage data pipeline issues and coordinate between teams to ensure successful resolution.
- Pro-active communication of technical problems and issues.
- Provide data design consultancy to operational system owners to ensure optimisation of data.
- Creation of high-level design/architecture documentation.
- Support the pre-sales and management team with client proposals
Qualifications/Experience required in some of:
- Working in an agile environment
- Azure Data Services
- Power BI
- CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps
- Attention to detail, drive for results, work independently
